My name is Kira Fox and I am from Oahu and the Big Island, and I am so excited you have chosen Hawaii as your home for the next four years! I am a junior majoring in Food Science and Human Nutrition which is in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR), for which I am a Student Ambassador. I am also pursuing a minor in English focusing on Literature of the Pacific, and am on the UH Manoa Rainbow Wahine Swim Team, and being part of the team has taken me all over the west coast on trips to represent our University.
Hawaii is my home, and when I am not swimming or doing school work I love spending time exploring the different islands since they are all so unique and filled with amazing adventures! My greatest love is the ocean and free diving, and I’d love to show you some of my favorite places to swim with dolphins, go on hikes with amazing ocean views, search for shells, make friends with all the sea creatures, or just cruise the beach!
Starting from when I was very young, I was taught kulia i ka nu’u, which in Hawaiian means to strive to reach the highest summit. These islands are truly an amazing place, and though there is much to do and explore in Hawaii it is important to remember to excel in your studies as well, and I am super stoked to help you guys adjust to life as a college student and make the most of your time here at the University of Hawaii at Manoa!
